Fast, fun and svelte gravel bike that can handle everything from dusty, broken roads to thick forest mud! Race, Road and Trail Ready! Our drop handle bar gravel bike, the Rebel is based on our successful cyclocross frame, constructed of 7020T6 aluminium alloy. This model is modified for single cranksets for that contemporary 1 by ride and aesthetic. To maintain the clean lines, the rear derailleur cable and brake Bowden cable housing are routed inside the frame. The Rebel frame is very rigid for a responsive ride, while at the same time comfortable due to the construction of the rear triangle, which is specifically designed to absorb bumps! Lightweight and large diameter tubing are used for the construction of the front triangle. Thanks to this design concept, the frame displays great torsional rigidity, which enables swift and seamless transmission, making the bike fast and stable on mixed terrain. During manufacture each frame section is carefully prepared on CNC machines, and after welding the welds are hand ground, leaving a super clean and strong finish. After the frame has been repainted, the welds are solid yet discreet. The flexibility of our production methods makes it possible to modify the Rebel S8 model, both in terms of frame geometry and in technical details and requirements. Thanks to the highly individual approach to the change of geometry and the boom in junior cycling, we can prepare this frame for young riders from sizes as small as 44 cm. The cable casing for the rear derailleur and rear brake are inside the top tube of the frame, which allows the competitor a great grip on the bike when running in cyclocross or for lifting over fences, gates and obstacles on a gravel, back roads adventure.
Looking at the construction of the top tube and headtube, you can't help but notice the precision hand finishing of the weld. After the completion of a weld, it is ground by hand, which eliminates the weld's surface tension and gives a highly finished appearance. A conventional bead weld typical of robotic welding in mass production bicycles is not used in Duratec frames - the tubes are welded together by high-quality penetration welding, which gives a very elegant joint of great strength.
The selection of a single crankset is a very pure, clean and modern solution fore gravel bikes and works perfectly with the Rebel frame. No further frame stops for the front derailleur are necessary, adding to the clean look. With the 1 by set up it is virtually impossible to drop your chain in any ride conditions, whether you in the heavy mud of a CX race or on a gravel high Alpine pass! With the incredible range of a 1x11sp., the gearing covers virtually the same range as the former classic with double crankset, if the right cassette is chosen.
SRAM Force CX1 cranks with 38 tooth crankset are shown. The range has now been expanded to include the sets SRAM Apex, Force and Rival. The cranksets are manufactured in a range of 38-54 with two-tooth increments. Shimano has not reacted to the 1x11sp. sets for cyclocross, and so the offer currently is only SRAM. You can find out more on the Configuration page.
Cassettes are available in the range 11-25, 11-26, most often 11-28 and 11-32 teeth are used. Cassettes with an incredible range of 10-42 teeth are a new item.
Both the cable for the rear derailleur and the hydraulic hose for the rear brake are located inside the frame top tube. Both cables emerge from the top tube and run externally along the rear stays to the area of the rear dropouts.
