Tandem, or a bike which two cyclists ride and pedal together. There are more or less two kinds of people who ride tandems: those who have completely fallen under the spell of tandem pedalling and have become aficionados and fans, and those for who it is the only means of movement and active sport as a result of their disability. In the second case a blind or otherwise disabled rider sits behind the front rider.
Mtb tandem Big Bang C9 is offered in a basic variant for 29" wheels. The diversity of own production and highly individual approach in the solution of tandems offers customers unusual technical possibilities, not only in selection of size or concept of custom frame. The high rigidity of the frame is a decisive factor in the bicycle's steering ability. It is standardly produced in several basic sizes that combine the pilot's and the rider's statures. Depending on the experience of the riders and expected terrain or use it is possible to select a frame with geometry for rigid or suspension fork. We can also build the cabling of Shimano XT, XTR Di2 electronic shifting into the space within the frame, and the battery is located in the seatpost of the rear rider.
New for 2019 - the possibility to configure MTB tandem with SRAM Eagle 1x12sp groupsets. The cranks will be fitted with a wholly unique chainring developed and manufactured in DURATEC. Very frequently discussed topic in the tandem cycling is a stiffness and resistance to torsion. Frame Big Bang C9 achieves high torsional rigidity mainly due to the tubes used for its construction. It is a material 7020T6 and oversize tube diameters. The lower and central tube having a diameter of 52 mm. At the middle of the frame tubes are specially shaped to resist high loads.
Very difficult thing are the crancs for tandems. The picture shows Truvativ Firex cranks. We very often use the cranks GEBHARDT. It is customized work. Customer can choose the lenght of cranks, right transmision and the other requests like colour. More information are on www.gebhardt.cz

Currently a fixing for a rigid axle is the trend for the front and rear fork. As a result we recommend that you order a frame with dropouts for Syntace X12 rear axle, which closes the rear triangle of the frame. This will significantly increase its torsional rigidity. Depending on the required tyre width we are capable of adapting the rear construction for a boost system where the size of the rear hub is 148 mm in the version Syntace X12. Then the frame is suitable for a tyre width of up to 2.6”. Standard dropouts are included in the offer in particular due to the demands of customers who have a spare wheel with quick-releases, but they are becoming less common. So use a timeless solution and choose a technically advanced rigid rear axle.
