DURATEC, s.r.o. company was founded by Milan Duchek on 14 April 1997. Business activities of a natural person were turned into business activities of a legal entity and a limited liability company which runs until now was founded. A complex offer involving mtb, road and track frames was created by then. It was an exclusively Czech company, free of foreign capital, with a clear notion of position it would like to take on the market. Duratec products get the specific appearance and they are characterised by the components typical for the brand – manufacturing material aluminium 7020T6, large diameters of bars, high strength of frames, handmade products and individual approach.
In 1998, Duratec starts to cooperate with Duratec Tufo racing team and purposefully creates marketing in the form of sponsorship, promotion and an active participation on important exhibitions. New distributors for the foreign market come and Duratec brand gains popularity not only in the Czech Republic.
In 1999, Duratec starts to cooperate with Jan Řehula and a new triathlon frame – model Cyborg R9 with a specific aerodynamic shape of tubes. A year later, Jan Řehula wins a bronze medal on the Olympic Games in Sydney on this model.
